Estudios recientes de cartografía del riesgo de erosión de suelos a nivel nacional e internacional

Abstract

La erosión es uno de los procesos más importantes de la degradación de los suelos y los sistemas naturales, que influye en los procesos de desertificación a cualquier escala. Desde el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente se tomó conciencia de este problema y en 2001 inició el “Inventario Nacional de Erosión de Suelos - INES (2002-2012)” para estudiar la evolución de este proceso. El objeto de este artículo es analizar cual es el estado actual de la cartografía de erosión de suelos tanto en España como en otros países europeos. Para ello, se describe las características del proceso de creación cartográfica de erosión a nivel nacional de dicho inventario. Después, se estudian comparativamente otras iniciativas similares de cartografía de erosión en otros países, tanto a nivel nacional como del continente europeo
