Abstract

Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación sobre los cambios en los usos del suelo de la cuenca fluvial del Guadalfeo (Granada, España). Se trata de una cuenca de escala intermedia perteneciente a la vertiente meridional del Espacio Protegido de Sierra Nevada que viene marcada por la componente rural del territorio y la fuerte presencia agraria. El artículo identifica los cambios en los usos del suelo mediante el análisis de las cartografías agrícolas entre 1975 y 1999. El objetivo central es realizar un análisis cuantitativo y cualitativo de las dinámicas de cambio y su distribución en la cuenca. La metodología desarrolla técnicas para el análisis comparado de diferentes documentos cartográficos y la evaluación de cambios. El resultado final constata la dinámica seguida, así como la localización de los procesos de degradación y/o intensificación agrícola producidos. Todo lo cual proporciona algunas claves para propuestas futuras de gestión integral.
