Abstract

La obtención de clasificaciones digitales de la interfase urbano forestal (IUF) es una tarea compleja debido a la gran diversidad de elementos que componen estas áreas. Las técnicas de clasificación tradicionales, basadas en rasgos de la imagen a nivel de píxel, presentan limitaciones que resultan especialmente problemáticas al aplicarse en imágenes de moderada o alta resolución espacial. Una alternativa a estas técnicas pasa por un proceso previo de segmentación de la imagen, lo que permite el trabajo a nivel de objeto. En este estudio hemos realizado una clasificación orientada a objetos para la cartografía de áreas de IUF, segmentando y clasificando una imagen QuickBird con el software eCognition. Ello nos permite superar las limitaciones inherentes a los sistemas de clasificación tradicionales, lográndose resultados positivos en el cartografiado de una urbanización situada en una zona de IUF
