Abstract

El turismo es una industria en la que los flujos de información son intensos y continuos. La cantidad y la complejidad de la información que se maneja en este sector hacen que la posibilidad de acceder a ella de forma rápida y sencilla se pueda configurar en un elemento determinante del proceso de creación de conocimiento necesario para la toma de decisiones. La evolución de las tecnologías ha aumentado las posibilidades de acceso a la información por parte de los usuarios en cualquier momento y lugar. En el caso del turista, el mejor acceso a una información meteo-climática de calidad podría convertirse en un elemento favorecedor de la interacción y la integración del usuario en el destino que contribuiría a incrementar la calidad de la experiencia turística, referente clave de los llamados Nuevos Destinos Turísticos Inteligentes. En este escenario, las Infraestructuras de Datos Espaciales proporcionan a través de los geoportales una respuesta adecuada a las necesidades de estos usuarios específicos. Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar un prototipo de geoportal temático en materia de información climático-meteorológica con fines turísticos.
