Abstract

En este artículo se lleva a cabo un análisis y una reflexión acerca del fenómeno que denominamos explosión geográfica que podemos observar hoy en día gracias a las metodologías desarrolladas por la Geografía a lo largo de los años, a la presencia masiva de información geográfica y de herramientas para su tratamiento en Internet y a la participación de los voluntarios geográficos. En el texto se analizan los elementos que pueden ser considerados generadores de este proceso, qué características lo definen, qué aspectos caracterizan la información geográfica colaborativa y qué es lo que podemos esperar de ella en un futuro
