Abstract

El Centro de Investigaciones Geográficas (CIG) de la Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (UNICEN) en la ciudad de Tandil (Argentina) es actualmente uno de los centros de mayor importancia respecto de la docencia e investigación geográfica nacional. En la última mitad de la década pasada este grupo ha realizado avances importantes en nuestro medio al ser la segunda universidad nacional (luego de la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo en Mendoza) en incorporar el título de “Técnico en Sistemas de Información Geográfica” como carrera de grado (intermedio de la Licenciatura en Geografía) y comenzar la edición de una revista que se ha convertido en un referente actual, Estudios Socioterritoriales (ISSN 1515-6206).
