Abstract

La magnitud y las características de la problemática asociada a los incendios forestales en Galicia hacen que los medios aéreos cobren un especial protagonismo en las tareas de vigilancia y extinción. Para monitorizar en tiempo real dichos medios, la Xunta de Galicia incorporó como apoyo operativo en 1999 un sistema de Localización Automática de Vehículos (LAV) basado en GPS, redes de comunicaciones móviles y sistemas de información geográfica. Dicho sistema fue dotado de una completa base de datos cartográfica que ha sido progresivamente ampliada hasta un punto en que su contenido ha de ser integrado sistemáticamente para ofrecer al usuario información significativa. Nuestro propósito es ampliar el sistema LAV con un módulo específico de ayuda a la toma de decisión que introduce el seguimiento de incendios activos y caracteriza el entorno de trabajo a través de índices sintetizados mediante análisis de decisión multicriterio (MCDA)
