Abstract

El presente trabajo, llevado adelante en la Región Metropolitana de Santiago, tiene como propósito dar cuenta del impacto de las migraciones intraurbanas en la diferenciación del espacio social de la ciudad. Para tal fin, se procedió a identificar distritos polarizadores y tributarios de población migrante, y conforme a las categorías de ocupación de la población y mediante la aplicación de índices de segregación, se logró establecer los patrones socioespaciales de los desplazamientos. Los resultados alcanzados muestran nuevas formas de segregación social, ahora más allá de la frontera de la ciudad continua.
